The planning system provides society with a way of controlling how we use land, including when and where we extract rocks and minerals. This section gives an overview of the current and future planning process for minerals in England, with brief comments for other parts of the UK.

Significant contributions to this section have been received from the partners listed above and they can be contacted for further information. Many of the other project partners listed in the partners tab on the top line menu have also contributed material in the form of comments, images and case studies.
